volitional chronic sleep deprivation

I need sleep for adequate dream time. Thien's seen me at my worst, a 6 month dream drought last winter & spring, where I wandered listlessly, lethargically, etc. It was in part due to volitional sleep deprivation, as i decided photo geeking on flickr was more important than a decent bedtime. so true...thanks for the reminder...i definitely feel the effects of sleep deprivation.

Yes! i've been obsessed with this the last year, because my room has 4 large windows, with streetlights and bright neighborhood lights shining all night straight into the room. curtains didn't work. Blinds didn't totally block out the light completely. I think i'm sensitive to even the very small rays of light that peek through.
my friends laugh cuz i've put up styrofoam to block out the light and a large large mattress and bookcase to block the light, so it looks like a bomb shelter, but it's helped...except then i don't get the natural light during the day time...this is one of the reasons i've decided to move. cuz i also need natural light during the daytime.

...i also totally agree with you about the cubicle work. trying to figure out an alternative, but it's hard. especially with the cost of living here. i feel like i'd have to disengage pretty seriously from the system and live on an organic farm to be able to survive without working crazy hours just to pay the rent.
