There was nothing like a one-two punch and a hook to the jaw to set everything right in the world.  The other person's universe went spinning before becoming intimate with the ground, and he was the one standing.  It was a nice change of pace, before things flipped and he'd be on the receiving end of one of Life's cruel sucker punches.  For now, he ( Read more... )

What was this for?

I dislike flash fiction, so I don't think I have much to say.

One thing though. I'd like to see you try your hand at writing a difficult, equal fight. Perhaps even one where the protagonist--an intelligent and cool protagonist--loses. I am tired of seeing "cool person vs. idiot obviously wins", and "likeable rookie vs. toughguy loses but it's ok because he's still learning".

Even Colonel Curtiss slips, gets punched, gets KO'd once in a while. He's only human. I'd love to see it more often. Not necessarily in your own writing; in all fiction everywhere. This is a general complaint, Teddy. Hem hem. *sips tea*

A lot of this is stuff for my Creative Writing class; it was assigned and my prof. checked this blog.

I found it pretty therapeutic. I didn't see the guy as "cool" or "suave" but more of just angry at everything.
