Definitely no closing the community, even if there are not that many entries at the moment. I definitely plan to make some again once work and university let me. And from what I've seen, we're still doing better than for example the Inuyasha icontests.
Why to close it? As far as I know this community isn't doing so bad after all. In the other one I belong to there is the second extension in a row. You can kind of put a blame on school related stuff. The school started, so people don't have as much time as they had had before.
Out of curiosity, how many extensions there have been so far? I do not belong to this community long enough to know it. It it has happened once or twice, then maybe there still is nothing to be worried about. If it happens frequently - then it definitely is a bad sign. Wouldn't it be wiser just to watch the situation for a little longer?
If you, mods, are temped so much to make that 00_stills community, maybe the better idea would be just pass the moderation duties to someone who would be interested to keep this community alive instead of closing it right away?
Besides, you still don't know if the new series will be so popular as you think it might be.
Anyone up to starting a 'Save the seed_stills community' community? :D
Anyway... If you need help as mods, then just state that. I'm sure you'll find people who would love to help as co/temporary/whatever-mods to keep the community running.
Low entry weeks don't always have to mean people are losing interest in the series or the community. It can also be a matter of increased workload (schoolstart, end of vacations), being out of town (summer/vacations), or, sometimes, one just has no ideas related to the announced theme. This doesn't mean, the next week would definitely turn out just as sad.
I really do hope, you mods reconsider and give this community a chance to prove itself.
I personally really like this club and I would be sad to see it close. If you would like I would glady be a mod too help out. If the current mods have lost interest maybe get some new more enthusiatic ones? There have probably been low entry numbers since many people have been starting back at school and homework and assignments and such get in the way.
It's not that there are low entries, it's just that the team would like to move onto other things and try new things rather than letting the community die a long agonising death.
Well if thats the problem just let those who don't want to do it any more leave and move on and those who want to continue it take up the challenge. Judging by the comments some are enthusiastic to continue it, like I said if you want help I would gladly do it. Its as simple as that.

Why get to the extensions point when we can end on a high now?
