Thanks so much! I'm very glad that you liked that contrast, with him thinking she'd be angry but then it turns out, when she finally sees him, that she's not. It's also good to know you liked the part between Jack and his parents; poignant is such a nice compliment. :D

Your feedback is much appreciated!

Awwwwwwwww! Thank you SO much for this amazing gift! You are the best! This has definitely brightened my night. :) The writing and the characterization and everything is so perfect. I want this in canon so much it isn't even funny!

In the first section I love how the only thing he sees in her eyes is recognition. That sounds like a paradox, but it makes sense, because what else would there be, even in a best case scenario like this one where she's alive-ish and remembers him? It's beautiful and chilling and I love it!

She stared at him in the darkness.

Her eyes burned into his skin, accusation and fury radiating off of her like heat, enveloping him where he sat, his back against the wall.

Ooh, that is scary and so visually inspired--of course his back is against the wall, and of course she is angry. It's perfection!

He wanted her to unleash the anger she was clearly holding back, to give him what he knew he deserved, to throw herself at him and beat her fists against him and just say it, just say-- you took him, you took my baby ( ... )

WOW! Thank you so much for this amazing detailed comment! I really enjoyed writing this for you and am thrilled that you enjoyed it as much as you did. I'm so relieved you think the characterization is right-- I had doubts with this one, so that's very good to know. And I want this in canon so much, too, definitely! :D

I was thinking back to S1 when Claire was found after being taken away by Ethan and how she didn't remember Jack or anyone else, and I thought it would be such a nice contrast to have her actually remember Jack in this scenario, when she is found the second time. And yes, you're right: this is definitely the best-case scenario, with her alive and remembering. I'm ( ... )

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! This moment is so perfect that I swear it is canon. Christian looking old means so much more than what it looks like on the surface--dead Christian and ghost Christian and Claire's daddy Christian. Amazing!

Lol, yay! I made you squee! Thanks so much; you're spot-on with what him looking old is supposed to represent. I imagined that he, here, was thinking about what Jack asked that morning, and that, in fact, Jack does have a sibling, which he does not know about. Just thinking about that is so devastating to me.

I love Jack's dream--that feels very much like him, and the sensory details are so well-done. He's always running backwards--that's such a wonderful piece of insight.

Good! It's nice to know it feels like him, and thanks about what you think about the details! And yes, he's running backwards-- that's a great way to look at it.

And then the end is so mystic and sweet and brings up so many questions--how does she know? Who was it that told her he'd come back? Why? It feels very much in keeping with the ( ... )
