Oh, damn, excuse my French, but this is just SO good that I think an expletive or two is required! :D I adore your Alex and the subtle progression that this has; her being young and then her becoming like him and all the interesting possibilities that that creates. This is so atmospheric and very gradual and just so wonderful!

I love that Alex ran away into the jungle--almost like she was subconsciously looking for her mother--and that Richard's the one to find her; he's always seemed more elemental than human, obviously, and that setting is just so fitting for them both.

She does ask him one more question, and it’s the question he has learned to expect

And I love the ending--again, it's calm and subtle and creepy and lovely; and this is one of the best fics you've ever written, really. I'm going to have to come back and read it again; it's just fantastic! You have such a great grasp on this pairing and I really hope that we see more of them from you. Wonderful work! :D
