I forgot to mention it, but I just started a new course yesterday. Either an NVQ in Business Administration, or an ECDL (computers). It’s another Job Centre requirement since I still haven’t found a job. I might be getting a work placement on this though, which will give me some relevant experience and that should help me get a proper job in the

How long have you been enrolled with the Job Centre? I signed on properly today, though I haven't worked since October. I'm just wondering how long I'll have to be signing on before I can register for New Deal courses.

Also - I feel your pain about getting up early. One of the worst things about being long-ish term unemployed is that you start getting up later and later simply because you have nothing to get up for. I'm lucky if I get up before 12.30 most days.

Anyway, I hope the course is productive and helpful for you :)

Well I've been signing on for nearly a year - and you have to be on it for six months before you're on New Deal. Ohk, and I only got on this course when I'd been on New Deal for three months! I'm sure you won't be out of work for too much longer though :)
