Yes! Second this. I'm glad to know you're not a Twilight fan because lately I've been discovering people who I'd thought were rational and all round intelligent people liked it.
lol to be clear I am a fan of the concept (like I said, its good in theory and I have nothing against ideas, just the same as I have nothing against the actors who are forced to play these characters in the movies) but of the actual books and such? Never. I tried to read the first book, I really did - really tried to give it a fair shake, listened to the first chapter on audio and could not stand it any longer.
Yeah, I get the distinction. :) My issue's not with the concept either, but like I said in my answer I haven't read even the blurb of a book so I can't really say anything against it, I've just judged my wish to not even get involved from the size and mentality of the fan base.
Yeah the fan base on Twilight really is the absolute worst excuse for a fandom I have ever seen. And that's not to say anything against the sane fans, but Twitards... do they even realize the damage they are doing to the fandom they claim to love? Honestly, in any other fandom, people like that would be crushed by the rest of the fandom masses wouldn't they? It just makes me wonder, where are the sane and rational twilight fans and why aren't they standing up and crushing these idiots like they should :P
