The very simple style works well here. I can't explain quite how, but it seems like... a good interpretation for what a gnome in shock would sound like. The image of a gentle, bat-loving, tear-wiping ghoul charms me to tears (Or maybe charms me and makes me tear up because I know that can't end well...?). But you could probably have predicted that:p
Was there anything in particular you wanted me to read this for?
hmm. I hadn't actually meant that Batstealer wiped the tears. The "and clear the ice of my face" was meant to conjoin to "stand up again", not "watch over me". I think about that (whether it needs to be changed, how to re-write it if it does).
Hi, I meant to reply to your comment, but it slipped my mind, and I just remembered.
Glad you liked the story :)
Feel free to read my journal, but as you may have noticed by now, I don't write a lot of WoW stories. I wrote this one because it happened and I had to figure out some way to deal with Axelandra's trauma that I was getting echoes of.
She's been a really fun character to play; very independent of my intentions for her and very emotionally engaging.
