Time: Post-"Secundus," pre-"Secundus 2" Notes: Happy anniversary, BTTF! This is one of two drabbles I wrote for July 3rd, 2012, the 27th anniversary of BTTF's release in theaters. I chose the prompt because of its relevance to the dates in the movie (1955), and it surprisingly didn't take me long to think up something. Happy reunions are always nice to write about.
Jennifer Parker had not expected to see a flying train pass over her family ranch at any point during her lifetime. She gaped up at it for a moment - then her face lit up with a brilliant smile. She knew there was only two people in Hill Valley who would end up with a flying train. “Hey! Down here!” she cried, waving her arms like a windmill. The train obligingly paused, lowering itself to the ground. Then the door flew open, revealing one Marty McFly. “Jennifer!” They ran into each other’s arms, lips meeting in a warm kiss. “We’re home!”

Time: Post-"Secundus 2" Notes: And my other drabble for the 27th anniversary of BTTF's release. Because Drabble 88 has to be BTTF-themed. I came up with an idea right away -- and look, here's the author's half of the "author's choice."
“So, what do you want to name him or her?” Clara looked up at her husband with a smile. “Oh, I had an idea - one that I was pretty sure I would never use,” she said. “Oh? Why?” “Well, first because I wasn’t sure I was ever going to get married and have children. Second because I didn’t think my hypothetical husband would like it.” She snuggled up against Emmett. “But I’m sure you will.” “And how do you know that?” Emmett teased. “Because I always wanted to name a child - after my favorite author.” Emmett grinned. “Jules, then?” “Or Julia.”
Time: Pre-"Secundus" Notes: It's Claudia Wells's birthday today, and thus the birthday of my Jennifer Parker! So here's another fluffy/funny drabble focused around Marty and Jennifer's relationship and the quirks their Victorian versions have to deal with. I had to use this prompt because in Part I, Marty and Jennifer were planning a trip up to the lake. At least these versions actually got there. . .
“Wow,” Jennifer breathed. “It’s - it’s beautiful up here.” “I know,” Marty said, looking out over the smooth surface of the lake. “Look at the way the sunset’s reflected in the water. It’s like you’re getting two for the price of one.” Jennifer leaned her head against his shoulder. “I’m really glad you brought me here.” “Me too,” Marty said, resting his head against hers. “Just you and me.” A cough got his attention. He looked up to see Mr. Parker sitting a short distance away. “And your dad,” he corrected, sighing. Jennifer giggled. “Sorry, Marty, but he insisted on chaperoning.”

Time: Post-"Secundus," pre-Victor and Alice's wedding Notes: Written for charloft's July 5th Thursday drabble prompt. The word given just made me want to do something from the parents' points of view. I suppose you can understand why they might feel this way toward Victor and Victoria -- they've spent their entire lives "knowing" Touched are evil and Secundus is a horrible place -- but I still don't feel very sympathetic to them.
The trip back to Burtonsville was a quiet one, with everyone brooding over recent events. Lady Everglot was the one to finally break the silence. “We know how you feel,” she said awkwardly. “Our child--” “Is getting a rich, important husband,” Nell snapped. “He may be a little odd, but he’s still got a title, and money. Our son - our son is now one of them. Don’t even pretend you understand.” Lady Everglot looked affronted. “I was just trying to be polite,” she sniffed. “Considering both our children betrayed us.” “Yes - but you’ll still be able to acknowledge yours in public.”

Time: Post-"Secundus," pre-"Secundus 2" Notes: Happy Victor & Alice's anniversary! I pretty much always choose this date for Victor and Alice to get married, regardless of universe. (Year may change, of course.) As such, let's have some fluffy anniversary fic based off the wedding vows. Or, specifically, one of Victor's screw-ups: "With this hand, I will cup your -- oh goodness no!" (I wanted to actually put that line somewhere in the fic, but it just didn't fit.)
“Happy anniversary, my love.” Alice smiled as she accepted the lily. “Thank you.” “Oh, you’re quite welcome.” Victor sat down next to her. “Can you believe it? Married for a full year. . . .” “I bet you’ve forgotten your wedding vows by now,” Alice teased. Victor smirked at her. “With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way in darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.” “Not bad,” Alice nodded. “Though I’m sure I have a better use for your hands. . . .”
Time: Post-"Secundus," pre-Victor & Alice's wedding (at Victoria and Christopher's in fact) Notes: I really wanted to do something like this, and I'm glad I found a prompt that allowed me to. Finis and Maudeline get a lesson in not judging here. I don't know how well it really sticks, but I do know Victoria's on slightly better terms with her parents than Victor is with his, so. . . (And hey, Sir Christopher is Her Majesty's White Knight, so it only seems appropriate. . .)
The elder Everglots attended their daughter’s wedding more out of a sense of obligation than anything else. They couldn’t say they were happy - Victoria was marrying a Touched, after all. A noble, rich Touched, but a Touched all the same. What was there to be happy about? And then, as they entered the church, they saw her sitting in the second row. The Queen. The Queen who personally wished Sir Lloyd all the best. Maudeline and Finis spent the rest of the wedding in a haze of shock, wondering if perhaps they’d been a little hasty in dismissing Sir Lloyd.
Time: Post-"Secundus," pre-"Secundus 2," Alice's pregnancy with Chester Notes: I dunno -- I was in an "Alice and Victor having kids" mood, I read the TV Tropes article on wacky cravings, remembered something about some pregnant women liking charcoal (forget why), and this came out. The mustard thing is a callout to a 25 Foods prompt of the same name.
“Do you know what my aunt Susan told me the other day?” “No, what?” “That some pregnant women like to eat charcoal.” “. . .Charcoal? Really?” “Yes.” “. . .Why?” “She couldn’t tell me - she’d never gotten that craving. A friend of hers did.” “Charcoal. Isn’t that dangerous?” “You would think so. . .personally, I’m starting to believe that the moment you get pregnant, you are required to go insane.” “You’re not acting particularly mad.” “Probably because I’ve already gone insane. Thanks to eight years in Rutledge, I’m immune.” “I see. Certainly puts your love of mustard to shame, though.” “Hey, there’s nothing wrong with mustard.”
