Time: Post-"Secundus" Notes: This is sort of a spiritual successor to 3) doggie paddle, given the subject matter. I wanted to bring Ferdy back at least one more time, and this seemed like a good prompt to do it. It was kind of fun figuring out how you might clean a giant riding butterfly.
“Bath time!” Ferdinand jumped happily under the “shower” Victor had rigged up. Victor grabbed a broom and started scrubbing grime off his mount’s wings. A few scales fell loose as well - Victor picked those up and put them in a bucket for later delivery to Richard. “I’m glad you’re more cooperative than Scraps was,” he told Ferdinand. “I used to have to fight to get him into the tub.” Ferdinand wiggled his antennae, then curled his proboscis to get a drink. Victor laughed and finished sloughing off the last of the dirt. “All clean! Now then - don’t shake your wings!”
Time: Post-"Secundus 2" Notes: I had no idea what to do with this one until I came up with the idea of the kids playing in Wonderland Park. Dunno why they're pirates, it just felt right. Vincent's line is a paraphrase of what the Dodo says on his first appearance in the animated Disney Alice In Wonderland -- I thought it was funny.
“Arrr! Forward, mateys! The wild seas await!” “They wouldn’t be awaiting if you’d help paddle!” “I’m the captain - I steer, not paddle. And try to sound like a pirate, Lorina!” “Arrr, yes me captain.” “Ahoy! And - other - nautical expressions.” “. . .You’re not very good at this, Vincent.” “Sorry, Chest - Ah!” “What? What is it? Her Majesty’s royal navy?! Ready the cannons!” “No, it’s a waterfall!” “Oh! Well - it’s just the little one into the Pool of Tears. We could try going over.” “And if we don’t drown, our parents will kill us. Think it’s time to make port, oh brave captain.”

Time: Pre-"Secundus," Alice's childhood Notes: Thought this place needed more Lewis and adorable ickle!Alice, so I wrote this. It's kind of bittersweet in view of what happens to Lewis, but I still think it's cute.
“That one looks like a bunny!” Lewis peered at the cloud. “Oh, yes!” he said after a moment. “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize the ears went backwards instead of up. I guess it’s an angry bunny.” “Or a scared one,” Alice nodded. She pointed to another glob of white vapor floating in the sky. “And I think that one looks like a pony.” “Hmm, yes - does being a cloud creature mean it’s automatically a pegasus?” “You’re the scientist. You tell me.” Lewis laughed. “Alice, can I just keep you here?” “Sorry - Mum and Dad won’t really sell me to whoever asks.”

Time: Post-"Secundus," pre-Victoria's wedding (and thus any other weddings) Notes: This is a prequel of sorts to all the drabbles about Victoria and Emily's honeymoons ( 69) tent in a forest, 9) cabana, 25) snorkel). For some reason, this prompt inspired me to do them talking about their upcoming adventures instead of doing an actual adventure. Maybe I just wanted a little more of both girls in the table. Victoria's comment about country trips is from my idea that the Everglots probably consider a real "trip to the country" to involve staying at a manor.
“Richard and I just decided on our honeymoon.” “Really?” Victoria looked up from her list of flowers. “Where are you going?” “To a little tropical island,” Emily giggled. “Somewhere near the Equator. We agreed we wanted to go somewhere sunny and warm, since we’re getting married in October.” “Oh yes, quite understandable,” Victoria agreed. “Christopher’s taking me camping. He says spring in the forest is beautiful. And I’ve always wanted to go to the country without having to spend

Time: Vague post-"Secundus 2" Notes: I wasn't sure what to do with this one, until I came up with the idea of interpreting it more generally as intense light in someone's face. I'm sure Victor would have preferred I not give him appendicitis at some point in his life to do this, but. . . I'm not entirely sure when this occurs, but I know the only kid he'd have is Chester. Probably Aunt Susan's taking care of the baby while his wife visits him in hospital.
The light was - bright. Painfully so. Victor squeezed his eyes shut with a groan. That was not what you wanted to wake up to after surgery. “Bloody nurse, I told her that lamp was right in your face. . . .” Victor felt the light move away. “How are you, Victor?” Victor managed to focus on the concerned faces of his wife and closest friends. “I’ve b-been better,” he murmured. “E-everything go all right?” “Yeah, they got your appendix out fine,” Marty assured him. “You’re going to make a full recovery,” Alice added, stroking his forehead. “Good.” Victor sighed. “Glad that’s over with

Time: Vague post-"Secundus" Notes: And here's my final drabble, and one with an interesting theme. After writing so much about the main and secondary characters, I wanted to do something new for the very last story. So -- have two completely random characters (both ladies) getting mildly starstruck by Victor and Alice. XD Because my cast aren't the only people living in Secundus, after all.
“Oh my. Is that--” “I think it is!” “Goodness, I didn’t think we’d ever get so close to them! Do you think they’d be insulted if we asked for an autograph?” “Oh, I don’t know. They probably get that a lot.” “Yes, but - can you blame people? It’s Victor and Alice Van Dort! The saviors of Secundus!” “I’m aware! Oh, go ask them!” “All right, all right, I’ll go.” “. . .Well?” “I have their signatures right here!” “Wonderful! What a souvenir!” “Yes. It’s funny, though - poor Mr. Van Dort looked almost embarrassed.” “Well, I have heard he is a bit shy. . . .”
