When Kurt had heard his name called over the PA system that morning, he had not been prepared for what was in store. He had strutted down the deserted hallways until he got to the office, sat down in the comfortable overstuffed chair, and interlaced his fingers, placing them on his knee. being Mike (or at least, who Sue Sylvester thinks he should be)
It takes Mike exactly five minutes to pack his things. His duffel bag is stuffed with his sneakers, his unitard, and an extra plaid shirt in case he gets cold, and his iPod. His gym locker has his spare clothes and football uniform, whereas his textbooks are still in his backpack, which is still in his locker at school.
By the time his dad will come back from work, the only thing left will be the Post-It note helpfully stuck on the door.
Also, Mike Chang is now sort of homeless. He knows Tina's parents would let him stay, but he doesn't want to put them in an awkward situation. They know and like his dad, ("the Asian community is very tight"), and they'll get to know soon enough that Mike's virtually been disowned.
He leaves his mom a voicemail, and saunters into his post-lunch English class. Sitting next to Brett, it's an effort not to ask for tips on how to rock being homeless.
