The photo you chose was the one that was used in a LIFE magazine devoted to the spy genre. (it was years ago, I think prompted by a Bond anniversary)
I mean, sheesh, couldn't they have chosen a better photo to represent U.N.C.L.E. for inclusion in LIFE magazine???

Was that one right side up? The original has them suspended upside down, which is why Illya’s hair looks like it does😆 I turned the photo 180 degrees.

In the LIFE magazine they were hanging upside down. It was rather insulting to the actors as the other portraits of actors in spy shows and movies were nice. I guess the person who did the writeup didn't care for MFU.

I'm sure when the photo was taken, they spiked up David's hair with hairspray to be funny. Notice Napoleon, as usual, doesn't have a hair out of place...
