Not entirely certain where this one was going although I do have a few of the later bits in my head. Mostly I just had this scene so any opinions would be welcomed. :)

An excellent idea, most well written. I love the piano beginning and ending; and the suspense and action are very strong.

Yikes! Illya stood his ground while protecting his dinner. At least he keeps his priorities straight. LOL! Can't wait for another installment. Great so far.

Yep! The dinner thing was only partly about getting the opportunity to grab the lid. The food is always important too.

Not sure when there'll be another installment of this, I'm really not clear on what happens next, or even if this is actually the beginning of the story!

Great story, always love your stuff - quite brilliant really. Especially loved " ... if he shot a fellow ... if he shot a KGB officer ...". Wonder how often that slip occurs ? See, brilliant.

Oh, thanks - and I'm especially glad you liked that line, because I did. I think it would be something he might struggle with in the early days.
