You sound like my daughter. She was asking me last night what an endometrial ablation is. I told her. "Genius!" she said. "No," I said.

I keep thinking "Damn you, menopause, when are you going to kick in??", only usually with more profanity.

Being peri-menopausal has lead to The Return of the Cramps. Sometimes of the terrifying abrinsky, vomiting and passing out type of cramps. I so very much cannot wait to be done with all this. /rant

Yeah, that. My mom had to go back on birth control for a couple years after she spent 40 days in a row bleeding.

Ha. Been (gently) trying to prepare my almost-12-year-old daughter for these sorts of fun things. Needless to say, she is very much Not Excited about the whole thing.

Hope the cramps ease soon!

Opiates, man! I started taking opiates for my back after my lumbar surgery. Now my back pretty much only causes problem on intercontinental flights and during my cramps. That's pretty common, so the doctor keeps refilling the Rx once a year, so now can I take out both the arthritis and the cramps in one fell, dizzying, and even very mildly pleasant swoop.

And I gotta say, the first time I did it? I couldn't believe how much better I felt. I couldn't BELIEVE I spent the first 30 years of my life letting people convince my that level of pain should be an acceptable part of every woman's monthly calendar. GAH.

Well, the menfolks will just have to put up with our rants. We've been putting up with their silliness for ages.

It would be nice if a uterus would just take off and go for a walk sometimes. But no.
