Ah, this was so much fun! Thanks for putting this together. Lesbians are taking over the world! Maggie (and the better half seated next to me on the futon, who also enjoyed)

This was a really awesome picspam! I knew of the European ones, but not all the others, so that was a learning experience. :)

Thanks! I am embarrassed to say that I had only heard of three of these ladies before I put this together, so it was a learning experience for me too. :-)

wow. I did v.v. poorly in recognizing these women. I knew Hillary, Angela Merkel, and Johana Sigurdardottir. I didn't know Canada had a governor general and have no idea what the position is.

Thanks for posting! ;)

Those are the three I knew too! I feel like a total ignorant American. ;-)

I wasn't quite sure what the governor general does either. woldy says the following in a comment below:

I'm a bit doubtful that Governor Generals can be seen as political leaders in a comparable sense to elected PMs or Presidents (in Canada at least, it is a ceremonial role & a stand-in for the Crown, so there is neither significant political power nor any democratic mandate).

I stand corrected!

This rocks! I am sending a link to all my friends, and to my middle school daughter's teacher. Yeah!

Thank you for the kind words and the link! I'd be hesitant to show this to middle schoolers though -- this post is fine for all ages, obviously, but my journal has some adult stuff on it and I feel a little funny having the URL out there in a school setting. Hope you understand.

I got a lot of my info from this site: http://www.terra.es/personal2/monolith/00women.htm. You might want to forward that instead. :-)

OK, I get that. It's one thing to show it to my own kid, where I can control the viewing experience, and something else entirely to let it out of my/your control. I bow to your wishes.

It still rocks, though!

Thanks, I appreciate it! I was so excited when I saw you wanted to send the link to other people, and then I suddenly had visions of gay porn flash before my eyes, LOL.
