Argh. I borrowed a CD from one of my supervisors at work to burn it, and I somehow have managed to lose it within 24 hours. What the hell is wrong with me? I did manage to burn it first, but obviously I can't give her a burned copy in return for a CD she actually bought new. So unless it turns up somewhere (I have already turned the apartment upside down) I will have to buy her a new copy. Grrr.
In other, less frustrating news, I am suddenly in the mood for "Lie Low at Lupin's" Remus/Sirius fic. I go back and forth on this, but I think it's my favorite era for them (I also like the post-Hogwarts era before things all went to hell). I enjoy reading about their relationship when it's fresh and new and (relatively) innocent, but it's even more beautiful to me to watch them fumble back to each other as older, damaged men who've spent over a decade apart.
After you read a bunch of LLAL stories you start to spot the fanon cliches surrounding this era (the way Sirius always goes to take a shower/bath right away, the obligatory cups of tea, Remus's little cottage with a garden), but I don't mind the familiar trappings -- even though it does sometimes mean the stories run together a bit.
First mention goes to

here. If I had to choose just one version of LLAL, this would be it.

Summary: And I pray thee now tell me, for which of my bad parts didst thou first fall in love with me?
My Comments: How can you not love a story in which Sirius gives Remus stolen library books as a birthday present? I appreciate how this fic mixes humor and angst, but I especially love the descriptions of Remus's hands. One of my all-time favorite stories.
Black Moon by

Rating: NC-17
Summary: Angst and werewolves and a very edgy Sirius Black, post-PoA.
My Comments: This one's a little different in that the pups weren't together before Azkaban. It's plotty and angsty, with hot, rough sex and a very intense dueling scene. If you like this one, you may want to sample the OOTP-era sequel,
Blue Moon.

Rating: PG
Summary: Remus waits. Sirius returns.
My Comments: Brief and gentle and tender, with lovely images that evoke the cool, fading light of autumn.
Anyone have any favorite "Lie Low at Lupin's" stories to sate my craving here? *smiles hopefully*
