QAF U.K. + Angst Recs

*slumps* So tired. We have house guests coming tomorrow and staying for three nights (!) so there was a big flurry of cleaning and preparing today. The apartment looks relatively pristine, but I'm pooped!

( This morning I finally finished watching the U.K. version of Queer as Folk. )

'Boys Of Melody' is one of my favourite angsty qaf fics. Together with 'Apollo's End', by rhiannonhero.

I don't know why I enjoy angst so much. ^_^"

Also, NYLBYNCM (WHOA, THAT'S LONG XDD) is sooo good.

Ooh, I forgot about Apollo's End! I think I've only read that once since it pretty much ripped my heart out, but now I'm feeling the need to go read it again. Like I said, total masochist. ;-)

I saw QAF UK when it was first broadcast and I loved it, the ending of the first series is great, I love the open-endedness of it. I didn't like the follow up second series as much though - do you plan on watching that? It was just two episodes if I remember correctly. There are some QAFUK vs QAFUS clips on youtube which compare some of the same scenes such as Brian/Justin vs Stuart/Nathan sex scene which are quite interesting to watch back to back as the two are really quite different.

I actually watched the last three episodes of season one and then the two parts of season two right in a row, so they blended together for me -- I had to go check to see where the first season actually ended. And yeah, that's a great scene, Stuart and Vince dancing to "It's Raining Men"! I did like the ending of season two as well, hopeful and quirky and a little bit ambiguous.

I will have to check out those clips on YouTube -- you're right that the U.K. and U.S. versions are quite different. One thing I liked about the U.K. version is that they didn't cut away from that first rimming scene, but then I'm a pervert like that. ;-)
