Original Fic Insta-Rec

I just read a lovely, evocative original m/m fic: Bodies in Space by ladysisyphus (hard R). The narrator, Isaac, falls somewhere on the autism spectrum, and I loved seeing the world -- and Rick, the man he loves -- through his eyes. There were several passages that got me a little choked up. I liked the accompanying art too ( Read more... )

After that he took his break (the one he was supposed to take twice every day, even though he usually didn't and just said that he had) and went to stand in the bathroom with the light off and the rattling old duct fan on for exactly ten minutes. When he had counted six hundred seconds, he turned on the light again and took two pieces of paper out of his wallet.

OMG, I am in love.

Oh, yay! I'm glad you liked it. :-)

I know you read a lot of original M/M fic, so I wondered, have you read the Cut & Run series? Just wondering if it's worth jumping into even though I'm not really that into action/mystery. If there's lots of good relationship development (a la Adrien English) it would be worth it...

I'm really glad you liked it!

Yeah, I don't love that the stories have no summaries over there. It's really a crapshoot. If I have the time, I usually bookmark each monthly issue and try to give everything a shot. When I recognize the author names, I make time for their pieces at least. Shukyou is one I always read.

Sid Stills' Blues is a good one, though the major age difference did squick someone on my flist. I was enthralled by it though.

68 times? Wow, I had no idea she'd written that much. I have some catching up to do. :-)

Oh, yay, I'm glad you liked it! I agree regarding the age difference -- it's probably the biggest gap I've ever read as well, but it faded from my mind too. :-)
