I was going to share some mythology on the network at some point, but I was wondering if you all were more interested in hearing that or in hearing some of the mechanics of pokemon battles.

I really could go on about both, after all.

[ Oh, a human that looks like an adult; for a while there she was thinking they stayed small forever. More importantly, she HAS been wanting to learn more about humans and their culture(s). ]

Though I do not know what sort of mythology you refer to or what type of fighting you speak of, I am interested in learning anything at all about humans and their worlds.

The pleasure is mine, I assure you. As much as I have enjoyed my conversations thus far, you are the first adult female human I have had the opportunity to speak to. You are also quite knowledgeable, so I will very likely ask for your assistance in the future.

Of course, feel absolutely free. I hope we become good friends.

So readily and freely offering friendship? Humans truly are different. Ah, but, yes, I...I would like that. I think there is much I can learn from you.

Pack animals, after all. Friendship means strength, in so many ways.

If only that were to be how more Trolls view it. In Alternian society, friendship has been viewed as a weakness for a very long time.

Mm. It does make you emotionally vulnerable, which can be the source of great worry and fear... but there's no weakness in the friendship itself. Especially not a well-established one.

Understanding friendship is important in my world especially, where we're given the task of not only taming, but befriending pokemon, who fight alongside us.

The relationship you have with those creatures you speak of is actually quite similar to the typical one between a lusus and a Troll child. The child behaves as a caretaker for the beast while the best in turn offers protection, essentially raising one-another.

I believe you're right about that, even if they aren't specifically involved in raising a child so much as teaching them lessons about responsibility.

Though it may not seem like it at first, I believe there may be as many similarities as there are differences between us. Perhaps learning more about them will allow us to understand our own races and worlds better.

[ She pauses for a moment and eyes Cynthia. ]

I have another question, one of far less importance but one I am nonetheless curious about; although I cannot say I understand human aesthetics or beauty, your appearance is quite striking and I have noticed the humans here clothe themselves quite distinctly, going so far as to wear different outfits every day. How important or common a thing is fashion amongst humans?

Fashion is a little subjective, but as a whole, humans take a lot of pride in their appearance. It's important for the sake of impressing potential mates, or giving a good impression of yourself and your personality to others.

And thank you for the compliment, by the way. I think you're also quite lovely, as well, though I don't know what Troll standards are.

[ Her cheeks turn a faint green. ]

Oh, thank you. I asked because fashion and the like are not of much importance in Troll culture and it seems to have died off all but entirely during the time of my descendant. It is one of the few things I consider a hobby. Your own clothing and hair are very nice.

Why, thank you! I try my best to look good. Still single, you know.

I would wish the best of luck to you in that endeavor, but I doubt luck will be necessary and would be an insult to say otherwise.

I'm not worried about luck, no. If I fail then there's really no repercussion.

That is a relief.
