QOW: Knitting Out!

Mar 10, 2008 14:35

Over the weekend, I received a notice about 2008 Stitch ‘N Pitch events in my area this coming summer. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with these events, Stitch N' Pitch brings together two traditions - Baseball and NeedleArts. Basically, you go to the ballpark and knit, crochet, embroider, cross-stitch and needlepoint with friends, family ( Read more... )

yay! QOW!

my favorite place to knit? curled up in a big chair, surrounded by friends. there might be a movie on the TV, or just folks chatting. we've been known to knit in bars, if the lighting allows :)

barring that, listening to an audiobook or watching a movie at home on the sofa with the cats is a close second :) (tho I have to remind myself to get up every 30 min or so for good ergonomics!)

I do tend to pick the project based on the amt of distractions I expect. if its going to be lively conversation, or a movie I care about ;) I stick to socks, and save the more complicated stuff for when I'm home by myself!

I keep pissing off my super when I knit at assemblies. Pep rallys and performances by a choir are not sit still kinda things. I can listen and watch without having to sit still and waste two hours of my precious time. I'd love to knit in class but I know I'd catch hell for it. Makes me want to do it anyway, I hate my job. And I don't want to come back. :P

My favourite place to knit is at home or at my SnB club. I did take it with me to a baseball game last summer and it was a lot of fun, especially with a mindless stockinet pattern. I'll probably do it again this summer. It's a good way to keep me from eating all those fatty high calorie snacks at the ball park. :)

I love to knit sitting on a comfy chair and reading a book. I use my knees to keep the book open! Or the knitting if there's enough. I've also taken to knitting on the bus and even while walking...

In London, there's a knitflicks day at my local cinema - always fancied that!

The only live sport I watch is rugby. Can't imagine taking knitting - I'd get too carried away as we got close to a try!

You know, I'm going to a hockey game (Nashville Preds vs the LA Kings) and for a moment, I considered taking my knitting but it gets so crazy at those games that I would end up making a mess out of anything I would try to knit :)

I like to knit with the girls at the local coffee house on Wednesdays. Other than that, I love knitting on my couch watching a hockey game or anything.

I plan to knit when I get my knitting tattoo - not sure when that will be though.

Now that's bravery. I have chickened out of getting a tattoo twice now, but you must have an awesome pain tolerance to be able to knit while getting tattooed. Kudos :)

I've not done it yet, so we will see!

I actually have 3 so far. The one on my ankle - thought I was going to die (first one). The two on my back - I actually feel asleep while getting them. So I have decided, that must be my canvas ;-)
