Okay I consider myself a Republican, but all I can say is this:

YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY OBAMA WON AND EVERYTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE.

The way I look at it, we're a country at war, and nothing is right or peaceful. Bush ruined the country and hopefully, Obama will fix it. I'm not liberal nor a Democrat but I assure you I'm going to support Obama every step ( Read more... )

Not to burst your bubble Morgz, but I don't really see what exactly is going to change. I mean, I think it's great that Obama was elected. But remember, he's still a politician. Sure, he's a democrat and democrats by their nature are more liberal ( ... )

Yeah, he's a slick image. But I'm willing to take that chance. If his image represents change, and change is what we need, then why not? In two years then we'll see if he's really changed anything.

I love the optimism in this post, by the way :)

edit: and that wasn't sarcastic (because I'm not) as it truly made me smile that some people aren't going to start whining about the election results. I've been reading a big long state-by-state report of it (I study politics, and have an election systems module next term, so I'm allowed even when I'm not American!!) and yeah, I'd agree with the optimism there. (except for proposition eight etc, that's twelve kinds of ridiculous)

Thanks :) I don't agree with everything Obama says he's going to do (I'm a bit more capitalist than him) but the way I look at it... he's there now, and he knows what he's doing, so I'm going to support him. When I see people freaking out and saying he's going to "ruin the country", I sort of laugh, because being negative isn't really going to support your country.

I completely agree :D
I can't believe that people were going around saying that Obama is going to "destroy the country".. someone even told me that I'm going to get raped in the streets by a "dirty nigger" because I'm a white girl? Uhm? What?
Even if you don't agree with everything he says, Mccain was just a sad rehash of Bush; another 4-8 years that DESTROYED our economy in the first place. If anything, we can trust Obama will FIX the economy. Not sit back and play pokemon in the oval office eating barbecue while everyone else suffers to pay their bills... >.>
The only people that Obama is RAISING taxes for is people making OVER 250,000 a year. Seriously? I think you can spare an extra grand and not buy that new flat screen tv mister Mccain ;]

Oh, and I didn't mean to offend anyone, by the way :D
