[Aya has been so distracted with his conversation with Chloe. Enough so to get alone time while he gathers his thoughts. The other Pokemon are sleeping but Cu the Eevee wanted to go with him. So here he's sitting, brushing his fur as he looks up at the night sky

[He doesn't reply, but seeing this is enough to make Chloe smile a little at his camp.]

[So does Ken, in more than one way. Even before Chloe started his asshattery, Ken wanted to bring up something he'd thought about on the way back, because there's a surprising amount of time to think when one is riding on the back of a giant rock snake.

It was late when they got back--well, close to back, but they hadn't eaten yet and Onix had been carrying them all day and eventually enough was just enough...Ken had called for a short stop just outside Violet, just so Onix could rest and the rest of their teams could have some time to stretch their legs or claws or wings or whatever. And Ken had started making some food, but then Chloe had popped up on the Connect and they got to talking (bloody hell that was embarrassing, even more so when Ken realized it hadn't exactly been private and he was never going to hear the end of it was he?)...

...but whatever, Aya had wandered off with Cu to think or brood or whatever he wanted to do, and Ken had gone back to poking idly at the campfire, watching sparks fly through the air.]

[Aya returns after awhile with a very different looking Cu trotting along beside him. Seeing Ken, he stops a moment before heading in closer and sitting down with him at the fire. He adds a couple of twigs to it, watching the flames eat at them.

Of course, the Umbreon has to make sure to break the ice so he heads over to Ken and nudges him to demand that he notice he's a big boy now. Because clearly that will start that important talking stuff that his Trainer promised he would do.]

[Ken just watched the two of them approach, glancing over as Aya sat down and smiling when Cu came over to demand attention.]

Congratulations, Cu.

[Oh yes he will. See? This is him thoroughly enjoying it. And giving a glance at his Trainer. You promised, Mister. Aya just lifts a brow at him before turning his gaze to Ken.]

We should talk, I think.

[Not the best start to a conversation but he doesn't know what else to say.]
