I have all this crazy mental backstory for this that didn't all make it in because...yeah, 3k and a tight deadline...but about how Moira whips them into shape (ahaha, typoed "ships" and she probably does that too...) and helps get the school rolling when Charles and Erik are still being idiots about each other and how Darwin comes back and how he and Alex fall in love and Erik's recruiting trips and the classes they teach and the arguments they have about the Vietnam War and...all sorts of things.

Hon, I really love that this isn't the perfect fix-it. There's still issues to address, but like the title, there's compromise that keeps things together.
