Sam's reactions 6.06auroramamaOctober 30 2010, 14:02:09 UTC
What almost broke my heart was Sam letting Dean beat him unconscious, and Dean not caring that Sam wasn't fighting back. At one point Sam lifts his head for a second and you can see he's not angry; he just thought of something he wanted to say, possibly, "Are we done yet? No? OK, then." And I'm not sure whether that was because he doesn't have a soul or because he trusts Dean to help him and doesn't care how.
I can't wait for the fics this week. Some of us do write Sam's POV so well. What was he thinking? Did he come back and say,"Gee, I was planning to let Dean live his apple pie life, and there he is ensconced in his little Cottage of Light, and the best way to avoid messing that up is not to let him know I'm back. I would have thought I couldn't stand to do that, I'd go crazy missing him, but, surprisingly, I think I can. I'm pretty sure that's weird, that I can leave Dean alone and just hunt, but it's better for everyone, right?"

I'd like to think that it's more Sam trusting Dean than anything else - after all, we've seen just how terrifyingly badass a hunter he's become. However, it could have been something as simple as him just not caring that he was being beaten to a pulp due to the lack of soul thing.
If you find any really good Sam/Dean fics, or Dean/Cas fics, or fics in general inspired by 6.06, please let me know.
Dude, I loved the cat-face effect when Veritas showed her true self. Now that is what a goddess is supposed to look like. It was a nice change from their usual presentation of non-human characters. I also loved all the cats running around, that added a nice creepy element.
And you're right, she was TOTALLY smokin'.
(It's funny, when they posted that sneak preview clip with Dean and Cas last week, I thought to myself, "I bet this is all Cas will appear in the episode," and sure enough, I was right! But the preview for next week looked tasty. My Sassy senses are tingling!)
That cat-face effect was definitely something I appreciated, it was definitely a departure from the norm, and I really liked that. I hope we see more of it. The crazy cat-lady creepy element just made this episode all the more delicious. It wasn't one of my favorites, but I really enjoyed it.
(When I found out from my best friend, who is three timezones ahead of me, that Cas' only appearance in the episode was in that clip, I was really disappointed. Next week might be even better than 99 Problems in terms of the delicious Sassy action, and I can't wait. I always can't wait for the next episode, but I extra-specially can't wait for this one.)
Jensen really is overloading on the amazing amazingness; right now he's generating enough awesome to fill multiple people's quotas. I just watched the new Batman animated movie he voice-acted in, and I was blown away by how excellent his performance was.
I can't believe I still haven't seen that movie. I couldn't wait for it to come out, and then when it did I just sort of ignored it. But I looooves me some Bruce Greenwood, and him and Jensen in a movie together...even if it is just voice-overs...is too good to be true.
You should see it, you really, really should. I'm not as familiar with comic-book characters and universes as I would like to be, so I don't really have a feel for just how far they usually push the plausibility envelope. There were a couple plot points that made me go whaaaaar, but I still enjoyed it like crazy.
and hey, it's Bruce Greenwood, Jensen, Jason Isaacs, and Neil Patrick Harris all voice-acting in the same movie. Plot is sort of irrelevant.
At the end of this last ep, I was like "Shit just got real!" You know, after I stopped crying from Dean beating Sam unconscious. But you gotta figure, Dean was due for a little inappropriate violence. So far, Sam has beaten the ever-living heck out of Dean and Cas has kicked the crap out of him too. It was SO Dean's turn

Dean beating Sam unconscious made me want to cuddle them both. Scenes from previous seasons kept flashing through my head, and it just hurt to watch. I thought they'd maxed out the heart-hurting last season as we watched the brothers slowly and painfully drift apart, and boy, was I ever wrong

Marry me?
Also, Jensen is getting too carried away with his awesome. He needs to tone it down a bit. He's making everyone else look bad.
