The streets were quiet, as if the supernaturals who lurked the city knew something was happening and had all gone to ground, and the neighborhood stood conspicuously empty. That was, except for a woman in white, her skin pale and almost luminescent in the uncertain light, walking along the sidewalk.

A thin, supple rapier hung at her hip and she paused at the entrance to an alley a half-block away from Judas Liz. She stood there for a moment, as if speaking to something deep within said alley, then moved, quicker than the eye could properly follow. There was a quiet hiss of metal, then a sick, wet sound and the smell of old blood and rotten flesh.

The woman turned away from the alley with a look of disgust on her face, and began walking again, towards Judas Liz.

It was quiet. To quote an old cliche...too quiet. Judas tread slowly, senses on high alert. For a long time there wasn't a sound but her own cautious pace; creaking of leather and clomping of her boots on the concrete.

Then up ahead there was another presence. A woman clad in white. Judas's eyes narrowed, unsure what to make of her, or what she may have been doing over by that alley. But the sound and smell of death was clear, if faint from the distance, and then the woman began to approach her. She didn't yet draw her weapon, but her hand clenched tightly around the hilt of her sword as she watched the woman come closer.

Lara slowed her steps as she approached, looking up to meet Judas Liz's eyes with calm confidence, as if she'd known the woman would be there, had expected her. She watched Judas with arsenic grey eyes and inclined her head. "You were one of the ones brought here, weren't you?" she asked, her voice lilting and silken.

Her grip on Frostmourne's hilt didn't falter, regarding the woman coldly. She didn't like that expectant look on her face.

"What if I am?"
