Team 6 - Lurie Garden (Dean, Jason S., Blondie) notthatjason May 14 2011, 03:14:30 UTC
Another location without much cover, Lurie Garden would be pretty in the daylight but given the recent weather it's practically dead.

6-9 Blampiers will try to ambush your group and they're going to try to surround you and take you out all at once. They also have a few renfields with them that they will probably send out first as they try to surround you. Renfields are much worse than thralled humans as they are much more violent and insane than a typical thralled human.

If anyone asked her, Blondie would have vehemently denied that she was upset.

First, that whole thing with Babydoll and Blue, being punished for it, and then finding herself in a city because of... well, no one had really explained to her why or how she and Amber had ended up in Chicago. But there were strange people here, people she couldn't trust and not that she had made an effort to try. She had never trusted anyone - that's how you got hurt. She knew from experience... she had been the one to do the hurting.

At least it wasn't the asylum though so that was something - fresh air and certain amount of freedom if a person ignored that they were literally trapped in this godforsaken hellhole. But it was more than one building and it wasn't as if Blue and the other guards were constantly peering over their shoulders, sticking needles in their arms to subdue them, listening to Dr. Gorski's music play so she could create her own world - free of pain, free of restrictions, free of everything ( ... )

Dean had plenty of gear on him, and extra besides as backup. His knife strapped to his leg, his shotgun, with lots of shells in his jacket. Blondie's attire and gear, well she looked good for a possible civilian. He had arrived in his truck, and did one more check of his weapons.

Jason was not the kind of guy to go into this sort of shit unprepared. He'd found a knit cap, fingerless gloves, and denim jacket on real short notice, but the real impressive thing was the ammo. The other Jason really thought things out, and Jason'd wound up with a cross around his neck and vials of holy water in one pocket and garlic powder in another. The really cool thing, though, was the the paintball gun that shot paintballs made with holy water and garlic - stuff that'd actually damage the vampires here.

This was probably the coolest fucking thing he'd ever done. Well, 'cept for maybe that threesome with the twins, but this was a different kind of cool.

He nodded to Dean and Blondie as he approached. Blondie didn't look like the type to really do damage, but he'd seen chicks - mostly vampire chicks, yeah, but still - do some crazy stuff before, and if the axe=e was anything to go by, she was one of them. "Y'all ready?"

Team 7 - North Chase Promenade (Thomas, Deadpool, Granny) notthatjason May 14 2011, 03:17:24 UTC
The Northern entrance of Chase Promenade which is filled with outdoor artwork and displays along the pathway.

You were supposed to be a "surprise"/stealth team, unfortunately you're also the team to run into one of the older Black court vampries around the park, complete with magic and who is controlling several human shields, as well as, 10+ other blampires. Have fun with that.

The white sports car was flashy, maybe a little too flashy, but Thomas still hadn't been able to shake the constant weariness that was dogging his steps, so he'd taken the car. Despite the technology Winry had built into it, the car was still just a tin can when it came to being torn apart by the supernatural, but at least it shot garlic rounds and could get him far far away if necessary.

He did turn the music off though, as he pulled up to Millennium Park.

Deadpool was a little more excited about the whole thing. Hell, the man liked what he did and he liked it even better when he could have some fun with what he was doing. And killing draculas was tons of fun, tons. Especially when you caught them off guard, which was the point of all this.

And for that to happen, everyone had to be ready to rumble, which was Deadpool's job. He sat in the backseat loading the last of the weapons, a sawed-off shotgun, and set it down where it could be in reach. Alongside every other firearm he could dig up from the city including his new favorite the punt gun which was currently leaning against the seat with a good six feet of barrel sticking up from the car.

"Okay, we are ready to rock." He said with a grin, reaching out to pat the oversized shotgun fondly. "Nobody touches the big one, Jeanette here is all mine."

As with most else that required her attention, Granny hadn't seen neither hide nor hair of the posts that had said anything about there being vampires here. She'd known simply that there was reason for her to be here, tonight, and that was all she needed or cared to know. The place wasn't hers, but she wasn't going to let it do without an honest witch to take care of it. Even if she shouldn't have had to in the first place.

Still, she couldn't have said she entirely approved of what she saw when as she came upon the car. Carriages were bad enough but one without horses was a clear sign that someone had been getting up to no good. You wouldn't catch her dead in something like that and she wasn't even going to touch the things being loaded into the rear.

"I ain't gonna be touching 'em anyways," she answered.

Team 8 - Boeing Gallery South (Kyoko, Charity, Franky) notthatjason May 14 2011, 03:19:58 UTC
Boeing Gallery via the southern entrance is a lot like the Chase Promenade in that it displays artwork and structures along the sidewalk.

Your team is dealing with 7-10 Blampiers, heavily armed and keeping several thralled humans around them as bait/shields/etc. These are tough vampires who will continue to attack even after several limbs have been lopped off. Also, you might want to watch out for any surprise renfields who are much more violent and insane than the thralled humans.

Now, Franky had gotten plenty of experience with these obnoxious guys back around his first time in Chicago, so he wasn't particularly worried about a fight with them. Sure, there were a lot of them, but numbers really didn't mean much of anything as far as Franky had seen in his life. Heck, last time he hadn't even had these nifty waterbullets installed, this should be a snap.

Charity, he remembered her from last time, as well. One of the few people who'd managed to leave a noteworthy impression. He didn't mind having to work with her, seeing exactly if she was able to back herself up. The kid, on the other hand, was a new one, but she sure didn't look too worried. He shrugged at her question.

"Doubt it. Dead guys have a lot of time to kill, y'know? Don't see much the point of setting up an ambush, anyway, it's gonna be a mess however they go at it."

Charity wasn't pleased by the age of one of the members of her group. A teenager eating doughnuts? Into a fight with Black Court and presumably thralls and Renfields ( ... )

Team 9 - McCormick Tribune Plaza & Ice Rink (Hellboy, She-Hulk, Galahad) notthatjason May 14 2011, 03:23:00 UTC
The Ice Rink is open apparently with several people skating over the ice.

This can make crossing difficult however it will become even more difficult once you set foot on the ice. For you see all of the humans skating around are thralled and there are at least 20. They are armed, though most of hidden the weapons under sweaters and coats...but let's not forget the ice skates they wear can be just as deadly if they know how to use them.

Standing outside the rink are at least 7 Blampires with 3 of them being magic users and they are going to do their best to keep you out on that ice.

The park had become so dangerous. Her normal patrols had become frequent fights for life for others, the vampires attacking anyone who arrived or were just unfortunate enough to be in the park. Jennifer approached the ice rink slowly, dismayed not only that there were figures on the ice, but outside it as well, none of which looked familiar, many with uncharacteristic but telling bulges beneath their sweaters ( ... )

Hunting is what he knew. Like it or not, since 1952 Hellboy had slogged through jungles, forests, caves, and other places where things lurked in the dark. From Russia's harsh landscape to Davey Jones' own locker, he had walked with the dead and he had killed gods.

And they had killed him.

Still, he walked among them now, coming up behind Jennifer. He had long ago lost his coat (worthless without most of it's protective wards in his many pockets) and carried only the Samaritan and the weapon he could never put down: The Right Hand of Doom.

He inhaled, exhaled. This was going to be messy. He hated dealing with thralls -- inevitably, innocent people died. Faces he couldn't forget.

"I hate vampires," is all he could mutter into the cold night air.

Galahad wasn't entirely certain of the others that he found himself with. The...man, for lack of a better word, looked more like he should be on the other side than fighting with him. And the girl? He wasn't certain what was going on there, but she was disrobing and Galahad averted his eyes ( ... )

Rainbow Dash was bored. At first she thought this mission thing was going to be AWESOME. She'd get to bust some heads and save the day and all that cool stuff. But no, apparently she was left on look out duty to make sure no one got hurt. She had a pack on that was made for her to carry holy-water in and so she could refill it and dump on any vampire heads.

But, of course, she was just supposed to chill out up here until someone needed her.

"Ugggh. This is so pointless. I should be out THERE already."

"I don't see why we oughtn't be," Iskierka answered, jetting steam restlessly yet again. There was fighting out there and even if she'd been more or less promised that should would still get burn things, there wasn't much reason they should need to wait. Surely anyone who didn't wish to go up in flames would get out of the way.

The fact that she'd given her word to wait for the signal was less of concern at the moment, although she supposed she might as well wait a little longer.

At first Dash had been a little nervous around the large dragon. Her last experience wasn't that great. Still, it's not like it was clouding up the skies with smoke and fear of dragons was more Shy's thing. So, Dash had decided the dragon was pretty cool, especially since she wanted to be out there as much as Dash did.

"I KNOW. Those vampire guys wouldn't stand a CHANCE. I wouldn't even NEED these water balloons. I could just whip up a twister and send those suckers flying out of the park in no time!" She did a quick spin in the air, whipping up some winds as if to demonstrate. "And then you could roast'em or something and we'd be DONE." Dash waved off the roasting thing, just not as cool as what she could do.

"Oh yes," Iskierka agreed. "It would be ever so much simpler than waiting for them to finish with whatever they were doing."

Not to mentioned she'd always wanted to see what would happened if you mixing her fire with a good strong wind. Of course, what the pony was suggesting was nothing so grand as the divine wind, but it would be a good enough idea of what her egg would be able to do, just as soon as she was able to convince Temeraire that it would be a splendid idea. After all, it wasn't like him at all to refuse her so.
