Bill was exhausted, confused and painfully ready for a meal, but all of that went instantly out of his head once he saw Fleur at the end of the block. He met her halfway and held her close, unwilling to let her go even to take a closer look at the state of her. "Ma Fleur," he answered, and kissed the top of her head, smiling so hard his face ached. "Oh, thank Merlin."

Fleur clung to him, fingers grasping at his shoulders. She finally pulled away to look up at him, a few tears still in the corners of her eyes. "I never thought I'd see you again," she managed, pursing her lips. "Mon Bill..."

She brought her hands up to his cheeks, carefully cupping his face and looking in his eyes. "Are you alright? 'Ungry? Let us get you back to ze 'otel and taken care of, cher."

You sound like my mother, he almost said, but being with her, without them, wherever he was and however he'd gotten there, all of that -- dinner was a good thing to focus on. "I'd kill for a steak," he had to agree, and smiled. "Tres belle. You're still the prettiest champion of all, you know."

That wouldn't have gotten a very good response from Fleur, so it was probably best he hadn't said anything. That smile. Her heart fluttered. She had almost forgotten how beautiful his smile was. She smiled back at him, her flashing her pearly teeth as she did so.... Then stood on the tips of her toes and pressed her lips to his lightly.

"And you always know ze perfect thing to say. I am glad to know zat you do not suddenly believe 'Arry was the prettier champion."
