Dean was going to bitch like no tomorrow when Sam got back to the hotel. But this was exactly the sort of thing he meant when he hadn't promised not to see Thomas again. After all, this was more important than Dean's worries about his safety.

Of course, the lack of creepy fake people around only made the whole thing more creepy as they reached their destination. "Anybody else getting that whole 'shoot-out at high noon' feeling here?" he asked as he got out of the car, rolling his shoulders and trying NOT to think about the few memories he had, now. Something about the place was bringing up the sound of Hellhounds and his brother's death cries.

Great. Just what he needed.

There had been reasons to not take his own car. For one, none of the gadgetry that had been installed would have been useful against who they were facing. For another, Harry was supposed to have met them here, and his little brother was hell around wheels. If someone else wanted to risk getting a car wrecked, he was perfectly happy to let them ( ... )

Elaine recognized the emotions seeping from the surrounding area, the gritty and sickening feeling of despair so poignant that she had only encountered it a few times in her life. The last time had been months ago when she had traveled to Chicago to meet with the Ordo Lebes and had a run in with one of the family names from the White Court - a Skavis ( ... )

First Sora, and now Kairi. Riku's closest friends were disappearing at an alarming rate and it seemed nothing he did could keep them close. At least with Kairi it because obvious that she wasn't the only one missing, but there was still no sign of Sora anywhere...

Still, Riku swallowed the fear and alarm that had been festering in his heart ever since the skinwalker had attacked Chicago, and decided that he would get Kairi back, no matter the cost.

She was right - they would always find each other.

Well, Deadpool sure hoped that the fighting would be more fun than the trip over. First they hadn't let him drive, and then everybody had acted like jerks just because he tried to kick off a round of 99 Bottles of Beer, and then everyone had gotten all bent out of shape because he decided to play around with his gun in the car.

Some people....

So, with all that failed, Deadpool decided to resort to a philosophical discussion. He would pose the ultimate question, the one asked by every traveler in the past. A question of such grave and epic importance that very few had been able to give it a satisfying answer....

"Are we there yet?"

Harry was pissed.

This was not exactly an unprecedented situation by any means, and this was not even the angriest he'd ever been, but if things kept the way they were going, and given they had only just started this particular jaunt they were very likely to, it was making a strong case for a place on his top ten most pissed off list. There were a number of reasons for his anger, the most prevalent being that once again someone had come into his city and kidnapped his people, and really he was getting profoundly fed up with every monster, murderer, and ancient deity deciding to use the people he cared about as its plaything. This time he wasn't playing defense, or catch up, or scrambling to intercept, this time he was going on the offensive, getting back the people that had been taken, and reminding those who took them, and himself, just why his name was still feared amongst those that preyed on the innocent.

Of course, a second reason was exactly who was helping him do said reminding. Namely a certain assassin who, to be frank ( ... )
