Red sat under one end of the giant metal bean playing with his new... something. It looked like a Pokedex, but he had his. Playing with it a little suggested it was a Pokegear. However it wasn't his most pressing concern, that would be the state of his Pokeballs. None of them opened, so while he had Pika out, Poli and Saur were trapped. This was a problem ( ... )

Little... yellow... Huh. Well, that wasn't the sort of creature one saw every day. But then, back home, her best friend was two-foot tall dragon. So she wasn't one to talk.

It took her a second for her brain to catch up with her ears so she could process his question.
"I can't say the name rings a bell at all kid, sorry. But by the looks of things, we're in Chicago." A pause. "Or, well, a Chicago."

She didn't feel weird saying that at all. Yeesh, her life was weird.

The boy and his pet rat shared a glance over the answers he didn't get, how could anyone not know what a Pokemon Center was? How does that even work? I mean, certainly Pallet Town didn't have one, but it had Oak's Pokemon lab. It would be a problem if there wasn't anywhere to help him fix the releases for Saur and Poli, and even worse than that, where will he take his Pokemon to recover?

Then there was the only info he did get. "Well that's a weird name for a city... and confusing to have more than one." This was a weird place, "Do you know how we got here?"

"Given that you've never heard of the third most populous city in the United States, and my never hearing of a Pokemon Center seems to have you baffled? I'm going to guess inter-dimensional travel. I should have a Frequent Flier card for this sort of thing." She really should not have sounded so calm saying this. And yet she was. So far, given the lack of talking dinosaurs, Nazis or giant dragon-powered trains, this was one of the more normal realities she'd been to. No one had even tried to kill her yet!

Weird.

Kitty resisted the urge to sigh. That was the exactly what she would have said and/or done when she was their age. But they were smaller than her, thus she felt the need to be protective of them.

She pulled open the door to the hotel lobby, and cautiously stepped inside. "Hello?" Great, Kitty. Act like you're in a horror movie. That always means you'll be a-OK! And if something jumps out at you, run up the stairs! That's always a great means of escape!

Negi looked around at the grand lobby. It wasn't often he got to see places like this so he was impressed by the size and atmosphere of it. He kept his eyes and ears open but so far it seemed that no one was around.

"Maybe they're in their own rooms," Negi suggested. Maybe there was a bell at the front desk they could ring. He didn't seem to be thinking about it being a trap as much as Kitty was. Still, it seemed silly to just sneak around the lobby until someone did attack...or greet them. Whichever was going to happen.

Red was equally awed, this was as nice as Indigo Plateau or the Battle Frontier. Red shot a glance to Pika who was listening for anything around, but wasn't reacting yet. Red eyed his Pikachu then motioned in toward the building. The rat hopped down and started to look around. Red went for his Pokedex and opened it, however nothing came of it. Still busted.

Red sighed and put the color matching device away. "That'd take a lot of work to go find them then... maybe this is easier." Red casually walked to the front desk and rang the bell without a second thought. If there were danger he had Pika, he'd be okay. And, the two of them could keep Kitty and Negi okay too.
