Characters: Kel and OPEN Time: Early evening Location: Charity's Forge Content: Kel has mostly recovered from her injury, and is looking for company. Format: Prose Warnings: BYOB
Alice, being Alice, never turned down an invitation.
She only knew of the Forge by the conversation only - this was her first time visiting it, and from the wide-eyed expression on her face as she flitted into the room, was suitably impressed.
She glanced over at the girl sitting by the fire, a friendly smile lighting up her face. "So I heard you needed company~?"
Kel looked up, and offered a small smile in return to the newcomer.
"Company would be wonderful. As I'm sure you know, I'm Kel. Here, come sit." She indicated a stool near the fire that looked to be about the right size.
"So where did you come from before being brought here?"
Alice moved with that enviable dancer's grace over to the fire and perched on the edge of the stool, the flames catching in her amber eyes. "I'm Alice - pleased to meet you."
She tilted her head, taking in Kel as if trying to come to a conclusion about her. "Washington state - nearly on the other side of the country. What about you~?"
"Honestly, I don't know where my country lands in relation to yours. I'm from Tortall, but grew up in the Yamani Islands to the west, across the Emerald Ocean."
Kel was trying to be more open about things- she really was. It was easier now, after making a few friends, and she was coming to understand that while some people had abilities that might seem monstrous in Tortall, they were still people. It helped to think about Daine, who could turn into animals, and who was the sweetest person.
Hoping for a chance at another friend, Kel added, "That might not mean anything to you, but I could tell you what life was like there, if you like."
