Chicago was as close to home as Thomas got, having lived there now for nigh on six years. It was certainly the most time he spent in any one place. Still, six Chicago winters didn't really prepare him for unplowed streets. It wouldn't have been a problem in the Hummer, but his new car was significantly lower to the ground.

Still, you got what you paid for (or, in this case, what you didn't pay for), and the McLaren Roadster lived up to its hype, its engine remaining smoothly purring despite the snow. He pulled up to the Blackstone's garage, waving jauntily to Winry through the window, and parked. "Hey cutie," he called out, standing up and patting the car's soft roof. "Like the new ride?"

Winry opened the garage door to stare at the car. She didn't realize she started swaying from side to side, a huge grin spreading across her face. "Thomas, this is amazing! Where did you find a car like this?" She wanted to take it apart and put it back together again. Just to know how it all worked. And from what Thomas was talking about earlier, Winry thought she might be able to do just that.

"Bring it inside!" She was practically drooling over the idea of getting her hands on that machine.

Winry's response was everything Thomas had hoped for. Giddy exuberance and excitement that bordered on fanaticism. "From the store," he teased, obediently getting back into the car and pulling it into the garage. Once safely inside, he retracted the roof and killed the engine. "It's a little smaller than the old one, but judging from your reaction, I don't think size really matters."

"Really? This was in a store?" Winry thought maybe she wanted to go visit this store sometime. She closed the garage door once the engine was cut off. "It is a little smaller, but it might work better in the streets." She rapped her knuckles on the hood. "Just don't go ramming it into any trolls or anything. At least not until we get this machine modified!"
