Kitten found Derek in the same place she had first met him. She watched, curiously, as he pulled on the ornament in his hair, and greeted the Agent with a pleased series of whistled notes.

The dragon was happy they'd made it back to the city. A ship was a more familiar environment to her than this city and its technology and building design, but she'd settled in one of these buildings, found a place she could stay until she made it home to Daine. Besides that, Toph had been absolutely miserable on board the vessel, and it was a pirate ship, not a crew on legitimate business who had laws and codes to follow. They would not hesitate to cause harm.

Derek returned the greeting with a nod and then reached up to his hair again to tugged on the dangling thing. "Why won't this get out..." he muttered. Hopefully, Starr or someone would come and help get it out.

"You doing okay?" Derek remembered seeing her on the ship before things had gotten crazy with the four great beings' arrival.

Kitten noted the mutterings and nodded an affirmative to Derek's question. In light of his hair difficulties, Kitten gestured toward the surface of the table rather than to the chair opposite Derek, looking expectantly to the Agent and waiting for him to lift her up. Kitten needed a step stool or something. It was rather silly that Derek had to pick her up every time they met. She didn't mind though. Physical contact of the affectionate sort was a good thing, one she readily sought from those she liked well enough to want giving it.

He didn't mind picking up the tiny dragon each time. It would be more comfortable for the both of them if they didn't have to look up or down at each other. Skysong seemed to like visiting when he was in the lobby, which was often. The table was new though, but Skysong had pointed to it instead of the chair.

"Good." Derek returned to his seat, sat down, and took another long sip of coffee. Part of him couldn't wait until the day was over. Hopefully, tomorrow wouldn't be as crazy as today had been. "Did any of the four speak to you?" It made sense if both the Tiger and the Phoenix had spoken to him, Ebenezar, and Billy, the others would have the same ability.

It was a relatively unknown fact that Thomas didn't drink much coffee these days, having associated the scent with Harry's notorious coffee habit and his salon. Old days. But the promise of information overcame that initial reluctance, so he found himself in Starbucks, breathing in the warm, distinct scent of coffee.

He ordered a cup of coffee and a pastry, looking around for the red hair Derek had mentioned, and nearly laughed out loud at the succinct description. Approaching the man with the biggest, brightest and puffiest afro he'd ever seen (and that was saying something, given his run-ins with the Fae), Thomas offered the man a grin. "You Derek?"

Derek couldn't deny that sometimes, the little jolt of surprise that ran through a person's tune upon meeting him for the first time was something that amused him. He nodded and added, "You Thomas?"

"Would here be okay, or would you rather speak somewhere else?" Thomas' melody was... different, but the underlying unease behind the hidden grin didn't escape Derek. "Could move to the lobby." Derek nodded in the direction of the Starbucks employee, "blaming" him for what Derek heard. With the previous concern about privacy, it wasn't that much of a stretch.

Following Derek's glance, Thomas narrowed his eyes at the barista, reaching with the Hunger for that telltale spark of humanity, of the banked embers of passion that the darkness inside him hungered for. He covered the motion up with a long, savouring sip of coffee. As he'd expected, nothing. Just the shadow of warmth like concrete after sunset.

"I think we'll be fine here. The guy isn't going to notice anything," he answered, turning back to Derek. He nodded at the chair. "May I?"

Derek gave another nod. He wasn't much for words, and he had the feeling beginning the conversation would be favorable for the both of them if Thomas' melody was anything to go by.

The Agent took a sip of his own coffee, mulling over where he should start, and as Thomas sat down, Derek figured the start would be the best. The pieces could be put together after if they could.

"The first thing after arriving on the pirate ship was appearing in pirate outfits. The captain of the Flying Dutchman expected us and had talked to our 'masters' about us." Derek paused and waited to see what Thomas' reaction would be. He had no idea what the previous abduction to Italy had been like.

Yue walked into the Starbucks, a broom strapped to her back. Her demeanor as quiet as ever. Apparently during the little daytrip into the lake, several people were taken to be pirates. She needed more information on the subject, what they were after for starters ( ... )

The Agent looked up at the approaching melody and then voice to see a girl with as much hair as he had, purple instead of red.

"Yeah got back a few hours ago." After having winding up on a pirate ship, talking to giant spiritual beings, and having a tiny dragon get stuck in his afro, Derek voluntarily took a nap back in his room. "Ended up talking to a giant Tiger and Phoenix."

Yue did not look at all surprised by the mention of a giant tiger and a phoenix. "There was a dragon and a tortoise there too," that wasn't a question. Well, it did certainly cover what that message from 'The Postman' was about. It was probably something she should have mentioned to the group before whatever happened, but at least next time she would. As she had this proof to support the idea.

Yue opened a notebook and quickly wrote something down. The pen moved a lot but in a confined area. So it was probably no more than two or three characters.

"Yeah," Derek said. Had she been on the pirate ship? He didn't think so, and Derek had only mentioned the pirate ship really. Nothing specific otherwise. (Derek did remember how to be a secret agent sometimes.) "Didn't get a good look at them though." Derek didn't know if he would have been able to handle hearing yet another being.

It was hard to miss the notebook, so he nodded to the chair across from him. "Guess you'd like to know more." He'd do what he could. Something had to be done. "I'm Derek."
