Characters: Rozalin and Adell Time: Evening..? Location: Blackstone hotel I think Content: Adell returns from his fail attempt to level grind. Format: Prose Warnings: ...I don't even know.
Most individuals in Adell's situation, namely dragging their half dead bodies back home to where a very angry demonic woman with a gun was waiting for them, would have probably focused on any one of the ways their life might have, or might still, end that day. Adell, however, was not most men, and his concern was focused more around the utterly absurd notion Etna seemed to have gotten stuck in her head that there was anything between himself and Rozalin
( ... )
Hearing the knock, Rozalin rose from the seat she was sitting in, fairly certain of who it would be. Grabbing the first aid box on the way, she went to the door, pausing a moment to ensure she had a sufficiently annoyed expression on her face. Pulling it open, she had intended to shove the box at him, but it just didn't happen as she held the door open, staring at the sorry sight before her.
The camera of the cell phone-like thing had not done justice to just how dirty, run-down and injured Adell was. Rozalin's annoyed expression was short lived.
"A-Adell..." she murmured, not able to contain the worry that had bubbled up. The idiot had really done a number on himself.
Whatever Adell had expected Rozalin's response to his arrival to be, it was clear from his startled expression that obviously worry had not been on the list. Suddenly all his frustration and rehearsed defenses went up in smoke at the startlingly intense emotion in her bright red eyes. Something about the way she looked at him caused a tightening in his chest, and he wanted to do anything to take that fear from her.
"Rozalin..." Taking a step into the room he tried to reach out to rest a comforting hand on her shoulder. Tried being the operative word, as a sudden spinning sensation in his head forced Adell to lean against the door frame to stay standing. Rubbing his head, he pushed down a groan of pain as his head continued to throb. Maybe that troll had hit harder than he thought.
"I told you I would come back," he managed with a weak grin.
Rozalin started to reach for him, before she seemed to come to her senses, and pulled her hand back, almost like she'd been burnt. Etna's words were still fresh in her mind.
Flushing a little out of the blue, she just huffed awkwardly back at him. "You... idiot. L-look at the mess you're leaving on the floor," she scolded, noticing the trail of grime at his feet. "Just... get in here already."
She couldn't bring herself, despite her embarrassment, to give him the medical kit and make him leave. After all, there was no possible way he could look after his wounds properly when he was so clearly fatigued. She would have to do it for him, so it would be done correctly.
