*Come 6 AM the next day, Shinn's there, very nervous but at the same time very determined. He wants to be able to do this; to use the Strike and avenge his family, and he'll do anything to get that chance.*

Uh... s-sorry. I guess maybe the idea of us fighting each other was a little surprising is all.

I can see that. But you have to remember that this is a simulator battle. Neither of you are in any real danger. You wouldn't be fighting each other on the battlefield most likely. And if you were... well its best not to get into that right now.

He's right, I know that. But it's just... argh... even in my head I can't even find the words to explain it all!

... Hey... Luna? Do you hear that? We're okay... both you and me. Come on, Luna answer me.

*A thought crosses Shinn's mind and he suddenly finds his throat going dry again*

Oh god, was this what she went through with em back on Orb? Oh please don't let that be the case! Luna shouldn't have to go through all of that; there's no point to it for her!

-Luna stirs a little bit. She is still very much shaken, but she acknowledges Shinn with a nod.-

I'm... we're... okay.

-She unfurls herself and slowly hobbles out of the simulator. She shakes her head slowly back and forth, as if she is still in disbelief of what just took place.-

But it all seemed... so real... like I had actually died, and Shinn had been the one to--

-She cuts herself off and just stares at the floor.-

*Getting out of the simulator himself, Shinn tries his best to cool his nerves. And the smartest way at the moment seemed to be to help out Luna*

I understand. I mean... it looked real from where I was standing too, Luna. But there's a difference.

I would never attack you just because a superior told me I had to. I made a promise, right?

-Luna slowly, but surely, comes to her senses. She blinks a few times...-

Oh, Shinn...

-...and then promptly tears up and rushes unexpectedly into his arms, barely keeping herself from weeping.-

You don't forget that promise, okay? Okay? We're gonnna... protect each other... so I won't let it happen to you, either. Please...

-What she says next can barely be heard, muttered in a moment of weakness.-

...don't leave me, Shinn.

*Shinn is taken aback by Luna's sudden breaking down, but still holds her nonetheless and tries to hope that Dingo or Kira wouldn't chew him out for this*

Hey, it's okay, really. Is this what Luna's been holding in since that day? All for my sake?

*realizing this, Shinn tightens his hold a little bit more, to further emphasize the fact he was there for her*

Luna. We can get through this. You didn't give up on me and I'm never going to give up on you. It's going to be okay.

R... right.

-Luna promptly straightens herself, quickly wipes her tears away with her sleeve, and breaks away from Shinn, a determined expression now on her face.-

We still have work to do, don't we?

-The confidence in her tone is back, at least somewhat.-

So let's... get to it.

-While her back is turned away from Shinn, her shoulders sag just a little.-

Just how long... can I keep this act up, anyway?

*Shinn blinks in amazement as Luna just ups and dusts herself off*

Is she really trying that hard to stay strong? This whole time, has she been just trying to be the pillar that keeps me from tumbling down?

Alright, Luna. Let's give it another go.
