Room 314 | Morning | Sunday | February 13

After yesterday, Percy was grateful for the little bit of quiet he'd found right now. Anna was off with her dad and Ethan was off...actually, Percy didn't know. Maybe he was with his mom (and that would never not be hilarious). Right now, Percy was just taking advantage of the empty room to sit on the edge of his bed and unwind ( Read more... )

Leander had spent yesterday scouting the island. It was an unfamiliar place which meant it had to be explored, exists had to be notated and weaknesses had to be plotted.

Yeah, he was young but he'd learned from the test even if he wasn't going to get anywhere near the tight pants that Jason wore. That was just...no. He didn't need kids calling him names. Percy made enough fun of Jason for the tight pants.

Now though, he'd made it up to Percy's room and was currently leaning casually in the doorway like he owned the entire place.

Under normal circumstances, Jason wouldn't answer a voicemail from Percy with any kind of speed, but this was a weird weekend, and from the sound of Percy's message, he was afraid that another one of his kids had shown up, and gone to the wrong lookalike. No child should have had to be around Percy longer than necessary, so when he got to Percy's room, he didn't bother knocking, and just went right in. "Hey, I got your...message," he said, trailing off and staring. "Uh, the hell?"

"Dad," Leander said, raising an eyebrow at him. "Surprised me to see me or something?"

"Yeah hey, Dad," Percy said, frowning at him. "You missing a kid? Cuz, he found me. Notice any similarities there?"

"Just a few similarities, yeah," Jason said sarcastically, eying the kid. "I, uh, wasn't expecting you, I'm sorry. Why do you look like me? Did I clone myself or something?" It made more sense than giving birth. Poor Nico.

"No," Percy said, fixing Jason with a look. "He's ours, apparently. Our kid. That's why he looks like us."

Jason looked back and forth between Percy and the kid - their kid for a moment, before starting to shake his head. "No. No. No way. We--no. We'd have to--no. You're trying to--no, no, no."

"Yeah, you'd have to," Leander said before he rolled his eyes. Honestly, he'd heard this so much that it was just getting boring. "You and dad hooked up, you both cried afterward and then you did it again and again and again until I came along. The end."

"I do not cry after sex!" Jason said. Maybe Percy did, but Jason would never, ever know. Ever. "You must come from some bizarro universe. I'm very, very sorry."

"Oh, don't act like such a martyr," Percy said, rolling his eyes. "You're probably a wet drippy towel wherever this kid came from. And you wear spandex."

That made Jason's eyes go even wider. "Well, now I know it's a crazy place. Why on earth would I wear spandex?" he said, trying to resist the urge to shoot a dirty look at the child.

Leander shot a dirty look right back at Jason. His look was probably smug too.

"Maybe you're a doofy bicyclist," Percy said, smirking. "Or maybe you're just showing off your junk because you're overcompensating."

"Maybe you need to shut up," Jason said, not caring that he sounded like a five year old. Obviously, it was time for a topic change. "Did you just get here? The other kids have been here since yesterday."

"Scouting the island, Dad," Leander said like he should have known that. "Unfamiliar place means checking out the perimeter and exists. I wouldn't wanna get caught in a trap by a bad guy."

Well, that certainly made it a lot harder for Jason to pretend this wasn't his kid. "Uh, good job," he said. "This is a pretty safe place, so you don't need to worry too much about bad guys."

"What's with the spandex?" Percy had to ask. "Is that just a thing with you or something? Don't ever wear it around me."

"Trust me, I won't. The spandex isn't for you. It's...something you don't need to worry about at all because it's not your business." That probably could have come out a little smoother, in retrospect.
