Lobster to Go

I'm posting a bit of fluff that I wrote for Officersun524. It was inspired by a story posted by VTNJ on the TF site called Interlude Over Lobster, the third part of a three part series that basically deals with Jack Crichton having a long heart to heart with his son in the first story, a second heart to heart with Aeryn Sun in the second story, and ( Read more... )

What can I say? You know how much I enjoyed this. A little satire never hurt anyone.

Oh, forgot to add, I just love the way he kind of talks his way into a corner..."No, I mean, yeah, I mean, you're not weak, I mean...."

Oh, hell. Poor John. It's always his mouth that gets him in some sort of trouble or another.

I toyed with adding some dialogue, about Aeryn saying something to the effect that lobsters are so dumb that they'd walk right into a trap, and of course, Crichton's walking right into her verbal trap, but then I thought it was too obvious.

The characterization of Crichton does seem a bit too S1 early S2 for me, and there's nary a lighthearted moment in canon between the pair of them in S4, but I figured Aeryn was due a little pay back.

No, I think the way you did it is best--no additional explanation required.

Perhaps it's a bit more light-hearted than the usual season 4 but it's not completely OOC, especially with John explaining that it was a front for his dad--I don't think season 1/2 John would have done that.

And they had some lighthearted moments early in "Mental as Anything" where they're canoodling in Pilot's den so, this works just fine.

hee!

thanks so much for writing this. the series was just crying out for something like this as an epilogue.

it really is a public service.:)

and aeryn really did need a lobster cracker or nut cracker for most of s4.
