The Long Night Ahead

The nurses flick off the lights and shuffle out for the evening and I drop some charts behind the counter. I don't mind call. I like it when it's busy but I don't mind being able to sit back here in the almost dark and catch up on charts. It's quiet and I don't have to deal with stupidity ( Read more... )

"I've just spent the last two hours with the new trauma surgeon," I say shaking my head. "He doesn't even know how to carry out a pericardiocentesis, he asked me why there was blood in the syringe and then told me I'd torn the ventricle."
