This hospital is so full of crap. I'm tired of the surgeons working and coming and going whenever they please. I'm tired of the personal drama oozing into it. I can't believe the board has let this go on as long as it has. I can't believe they're letting a place that could be so stellar go down in such shambles. I'm quickly reviewing charts from the NICU as I head towards my office. I glance up, peering over the rims of my glasses to see where I'm going, and I inwardly groan when I see King. My eyes drift back down to the charts, and I continue walking. Hopefully she won't say anything.

I don't want to stop, but I have to. She's my boss. And I notice she calls me Doctor, not Chief. Everything this woman does is deliberate. Of that, I'm sure.

"Dr. King," I greet. "I am working hard as usual. How are you?"
