I bounce up and down on my toes, trying to keep warm against the chill of Seattle winter. I thought London could be cold; it had nothing on Seattle. The blanket around my shoulders is a welcome warmth and I smile up at him, small stature making the gesture easy. "Its definitely sound." I grin, snuggling into it.
"Apart from the freezing? I'm good. Still trembling in my boots about this birthday thing Izzie's set her heart on tonight. You are coming aren't you?"

Then the roguish smile warms to something more genuine.
"Thanks ... it's good to see you today."
I help her snuggle the blanket in better, all too aware of how close we are getting.
"Wouldn't miss it for the world", I answer. "Something tells me that you're gonna be just fine, but I'm always game with a lifesaver just in case. When do you want me there?"
That last question ruminates a bit in my head, and a light blush creeps into my cheeks. Good thing it's cold, maybe she won't catch it.

"Well, I think I'm gonna head home after work to get changed and all, so I'll probably get there about seven. But you know me and time-keeping so you might want to turn up when you feel like it." I step closer, laughing up at him as a blush taints his face.
"I can't stay long anyway, I have interns to round up at some point soon." I just wanted to make sure he wasn't mad.
