Sighing softly, I listen as my patient drones on about her migraine headaches. This is not what I had in mind when Lexie says that she was going to find some neuro stuff today. I hate neuro. I sigh in annoyance as I look up from my cell phone. "I'm not having heart problems. I got a little lightheaded and passed out. So just do your little exam or whatever, sign your paper and release me."

"Yeah, about that. You're not going to be released." I say just as irritated as she is. "Your potassium level is in the toilet, you're underweight and having cardiac dysrhythmias. You've bought yourself a ticket to the cardiac floor." I pull the cell phone from her hands and turn it off. "It's disrupting the equipment."

"Give me back my phone," I demand. "I'm not underweight, it's called being in shape. Look it up. Oh God, you're not an intern, are you? I can't believe they would give me an intern."

"I'm a resident." I mutter, dropping her phone on the end of the bed, "There's a difference between being in shape and being anorexic. Look it up." I press my cold stethoscope against her bony chest.
