So, this is just a post season seven finale one shot. I wanted to attempt to fix what happened between Meredith and Derek in that episode, because I felt somewhat let down by the ending.

i know they're never going to have this kind of talk in the show. and its such a wast because this is such a beautiful thing. the way you wrote it - how all the important things were addressed, how everything made sense. and PD and EP would have rocked this. they really would.

Thank you, Lexie! I'm so glad you enjoyed this! I'm so hoping that MerDer are actually allowed to have conversations next season. This season, they barely got any time at all. I'm still really disappointed in how the miscarriage/fertility storyline was handled. Shonda said next season would focus on the originals, so I have mt fingers crossed that MerDer/Zola are given the storyline they deserve.

And LOL, universe totally equals Shonda. That's exactly what I had in mind when I was writing this! :P

YES! That's the way that episode should have ended on Thursday. NOW, this needs to be the first scene in the premiere.

This was just so amazing, Missy. I loved the talk that they had about everything. I would love for them to have such a similar talk on the show next season.

Thank you, Amber! I really hope next season actually does focus on the originals. MerDer and Zola need to be given a respectable storyline. And to see them actually having a conversation? I forget what that's like because it's been so long! lol. Anyway, I'm so glad you enjoyed this! It's always fun to clean up Shonda's messes. ;)

I loved this, and would be completely satisfied if this is how season 8 began. These characters and these actors should be respected with writing like this. I'm so starved for actual Mer/Der interaction that scenes like these are like crack. Thank you for enabling me :)

Also, I agree with everybody else. The universe, aka Shonda, says, "Screw you, Meredith."

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed this! And I totally agree, it would be great to see MerDer actually having conversations, especially conversations that lasted longer than 30 seconds. Fingers crossed that they get the respect they deserve next season. And LOL, it kind of sucks that universe = Shonda. If universe = fans, I think we'd all be a lot happier. ;)
