The memories are busted. Try the mental health tag instead. There's a few entries from the past 6 months.

Sorry I don't have anything else to offer. Good luck.

Thanks- it's not so much about cost as it is about the person. I really want to find someone who can give a personal rec. Thanks again.

So, you don't want a therapist, who can't prescribe drugs. You want a psychiatrist, that avoids drugs. Yes?

If that's the case, I've got nothin' for you. If you're willing to consider a great therapist, check out http://www.gaelenbillingsley.com/.

I've been the therapy route for most of my life. I cannot afford it and it has not proven helpful. Right now in order for therapy to work I think I need to be a bit more stable so that I can actually apply it. I think at this point meds might be the only way to do it.

I was a psychiatrist who does not over-prescribe. Of course I want one that will provide drugs, but that errors on the light side. There is quite a big difference between the two- some just prescribe too much and others want to prescribe the lowest effective dose and try and not keep you on too long.

I wasn't trying to offend. I was clarifying what you were looking for.

Best of luck.

You might also want to consider a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. They are more likely to do real therapy and also have the ability to write prescriptions.

Yes I have seen one of those in the past. Not looking for therapy right now- been through it most my life and need to be more stable for it to work.

Do you know of any ARNP's?
