My brother is getting married and I have been given the task of finding the site for the rehearsal dinner.  They are getting married by Roosevelt way and 68th and they want to have the dinner near by. My problem is I am unfamiliar with the neighborhood and I have no idea where to take them. There are two other problems, a bridesmaid is deathly ( Read more... )

Try something in U-Village... Maybe Atlas? Not the fanciest, but probably good enough for a rehearsal dinner. I think they'd be able to accommodate 15 people, would have kid-friendly food, tons of free parking, and would be affordable enough, too.

U-Village is close to 68th and Roosevelt, although not working distance...

If Indian food would be okay, the Bengal Tiger is right next to 68th and Roosevelt and is WONDERFUL, too. Great, great, GREAT food.

Piatti in UVillage rocked my rehearsal dinner. 'Course, that was *mumble* years ago...

Don't know how accommodating they are with garlic allergy, but it's worth asking them. There is a nice, private-ish section in the back with a fireplace and 15 would be just fine.

Ya, Piatti is pretty swell. I just didn't suggest it because of the "deathly allergic to garlic" thing...

The Salmon house is appropriate for largish parties. Not overwhelmingly pompous, out of towners get that Seattle sea-food thing, kind to kids etc..

It is where I bring the inlaws when I don't want to spend a bunch of money.
