Interesting premise! I love the era this is set in and the references to Boudica. It reads more like a summary than a fic itself, so I'm wondering, are you planning on turning this into a longfic?

Perhaps a focused oneshot, on one of the more interesting bits, or from their Happily Ever After.

Good luck with your Secret Santa (I'm assuming) oneshot that you were practising for! :)

I love that Buffy got to be the warrior queen she is.

"having been sent to lure the competition for Queen Buffy's heart away"
OMG, what a plot twist! :)

Thank you. Yes, it was practice for my Secret Santa, and I always enjoy the idea of Warrior Queen or Empress Buffy much better than General Buffy, because then her control is more absolute, but then she also has more advisors to listen to.

I know, it was certainly twisty, but Prince Angelus misunderstood their closeness at the time and the lord would not have attracted Queen Buffy's attention in that way yet, as he was friendzoned. It took the absence of both men and the betrayal of one and near death of the other for her to begin to recognize him in a different manner. If the prince hadn't interfered, Queen Buffy and her confidant would have come together eventually, just differently. How icky is it though, that the prince took his lover with him when he went to woo the queen?
