So I only ended up posting the first chapter, which could sort of stand alone as-was. I have since caught up with my writing, so am now launching the rest of the story, starting with Chapter 2! Knowing at least a little bit of what's in store for Spike in this dimension, I'm not yet sure if he's really better off than in his original one... At least he had several women who loved him (more or less) there. But I can't wait to find out.

I feel I should warn you: Spike spends the vast majority of this story making terrible decisions. But reading the last chapter of Ripples may ease some of the anxiety? This does sort of have the benefit of the happily-ever-after being already assured. Not assured for this Spike, but still.

Oh yeah, I saw the "two Spikes as tragedy" note on AO3, and I'm intrigued! :)

Every Spuffy story I've ever seen with multiple Spikes has been porn-y. Not always crack!fic, but always, always more smut than substance. This story is not that! I think some readers felt disappointed by Ripples because its ending wasn't straightforwardly joyous. I really didn't want anyone to experience switch-and-bait from this.
