HI, ETHAN :) I love the insight into how he plans. This makes so much sense: "unlike your average aspiring dark wizard, Ethan understood flexibility and opportunism were equally key".
"And I gotta say, Halloween loses some of its charm when you spend your nights whaling on real monsters."
Good point! :D
"silently promising the gods he served an extra offering in gratitude for his good fortune"
Nice, I'm sure the gods will appreciate it (I think a Roman god like Janus would be especially used to this kind of practical, mutually beneficial relationship - noticing this detail because I recently read a thing about religious practice in antique cultures & this checks out perfectly)
""Not very," said Willow. "That was set in the Georgian era, I think. These are Victorian.""
Thank you for the historical accuracy, Willow! :))
"forcefully holding back the evil chuckle that tried to accompany his smile"
Oh, Ethan :D
Ooh, I bet that will be a useful reticule to have. Neat!

Ethan is very much fun to play with, though I'm sorry to say he's mostly a plot device.
Thank you!

I love how you've portrayed Willow and Buffy's friendship. Buffy could not care less about the mini history lesson but Willow cares deeply, Buffy seeing Willow's heart being set on corsets, and their avaricious enthusiasm for their modeling fees. It's all great and sets the scene wonderfully!
I can't wait to dive into another splendid - and presumably twisty - long story from you! Is it my birthday?

I have a feeling Buffy will care a lot more about historical accuracy very soon. ;)
It's def long, and twisty, although probably more romance-y than twisty compared to the last few things I've written.
Thank you!
