"Buffy’s face wore the conspicuous expression of someone who was quickly debating whether or not to lie"
Ahahahaha :)

It's sweet that Spike tried not to hurt Buffy's feelings about the terrible cookie :D

OMG, HELLO THERE, LATVIAN ACCENT! And based on the name I think Stasya's family is part Russian. It's common.

*tries saying monster in a heavy Latvian accent* *the R is trilled* *the ə is an e*

I didn't know Odin did the Wild Hunt! How did I not know?

Spike makes a good point about "complicated trouble" (and it's what makes things fun)

"what seemed myself", aww that's a sweet poem

Well, that was a lot of fun! I'm happy you joined us for this round. <3

Ah, now I am left wondering what she is now! I guess you will be answering this question in The Dragon‘s Gold? I really loved this story!

And, flow: yes! What B and S are these days is definitely a question we'll dig into a bit towards the end of Dragon's Gold ;)

I was actually originally gonna make Stasya Russian, but then was inspired by Charles Boyle's Latvian son on Brooklyn 99, which I've been watching obsessively. Lol.

Fun fact: Odin doesn't always do the Wild Hunt... lots of different versions of that one. But I wanted him in here since he's sort of Santa-like in that sinister way ;)

Thanks so much for reading! It's been my dream to do Seasonal Spuffy for over a decade so I'm totally stoked it finally happened!

Hurrah! The Wild Hunt! I'm sorta sorry that Buffy and Spike didn't join in the fun, but seems like they'll have ample opportunity in future.

I do feel very sorry for the extremely tiny Slayer, though. Not fair.

This story has jump started my holiday mood. Thanks so much for posting here.

Yayy! So glad you enjoyed it! I definitely wrote this partially to get myself in the holiday mood... we're a Solstice (rather than Christmas) household, so I really like the idea of reclaiming all the pagan fixins ;)

And the tiny Slayer will be fine. Let's assume they've got therapists on staff... it's the new and improved Council, after all. And in any case, best get used to monsters from a young age in her line of work!

Really like the way you weave the mythological elements into the Buffyverse in this story!

I loved this not-so-little Christmas story, and I loved that it compelled me to re-read Liebenstod (I decided it's the title's fault, I can't seem to remember it so I forgot about reading the story). Poor little child Slayer, that's really too young, even with all that group assisting them. But I loved that Spike went to scoop her up for the comforting. Thank you for this entertaining thing, and as didn't have time before, I read this while all over town new decorations and lights are coming out: perfect timing <3
