Yay for self-indulgent fannish wish fulfilment!!! A delightful read on my morning off. I got intrigue, an apocolypse, a hell beast, shirtless Spike, quippy slayer and some Angel snark - what's not to love?

Plus punked-up Dawn and robed Angel are just worth pondering :-)

Thanks for sharing xxx

Nicely done! As happy an ending as those two are likely to have, I suppose. Interesting changes in Dawn. I think I like them. :) You do realize there's room to revisit this world as things fall, as they inevitably must, apart and the vamps become enemies again? I'm just saying...

Oh, sure. Endless stories could come out of this scenario. I don't know if I'll ever get around to writing them, but whole new world etc.

Thanks for reading. Glad you liked it. :)

Very satisfying! (I keep saying that, but it's the right word.)

I do find myself wondering what the two of them will get up to when it's Spike's decade for a vacation and Angel takes over the family business. Delayed honeymoon? Sabbatical/early retirement for Buffy? The possibilities are tantalizing. I hope they make it until then, though these celebrity marriages can be taxing. They have deep roots, though, so maybe it'll last a bit.

Thank you so much for this story! Instant classic!

Thanks, love. So glad you liked it, and thanks so much for all your wonderful feedback. Very, very much appreciated.

I think they'll have their ups and downs, but that wouldn't be anything new.

A refreshingly old school story, with the classic Spike/Buffy misunderstandings and cross-purposes. The theme may be growing up, but the two of them (and their sidekicks, Angel and Dawn) are still childish, emotional and impetuous. Just the way we like them!

I loved the vamps loathing and revering Our Heroes in equal portions, and the Buffy internal monologue. The fact that the whole King of Vampires thing is an elaborate con and that Spike and Buffy resolve everything between them (while beating the apocalypse into the bargain) in the time-honoured fashion - a battlefield snog. These are all great fun. Best of all, super-powerful Willow couldn't resolve everything with a handwave, so they had to resort to fisticuffs. Plus Giles, Xander and even Kennedy! It made this a world, rather than just a story. Lots more mileage, if you wanted to explore further. Especially at handover time between Spike and Angel (only hearing Spike's side of the telephone conversation between them was really funny). Loved it!

They're getting there slowly, I think. Spike still has some catching up to do.

Lots more mileage, if you wanted to explore further. Yep. This could definitely run and run.

So glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for commenting. Much appreciate.

<3 And they lived happily ever after. <3

Beautiful! Romance! Battle! Paparrazi. Snarky scoobies! Giles polishing his glasses! So much to love. :)

*wild applause*
