This chapter made me very happy. Three main reasons: (1) it was long, (2) it was good and (3) it had Betta George, yay! I think you did a good job at capturing that lovable fish. But I also really like how you showed Spike's struggle with his vampiric nature (gruesome but effective) and I found the argument between Buffy and Spike frustrating ("maybe", Spike, really?!) but very realistic. In fact I can't imagine a post-AtF reunion where they wouldn't argue!

ETA: Oh, I forgot a 4th thing: your little Harry Dresden homage!

A few very, very small language things: I think you have a "hurdled" that should be "hurtled" and a "crashed" that should be "crushed".

Man, am I glad you think my Betta George is believable. Sometimes I feel like I get the characters right, other times, like I'm making them up as I go... and I HATE OOC stuff. So thank you haha that's reassuring! Hope it's not a spoiler if I tell you that the following chapter has some more Betta. I really, really love the conversations between these two...
Anyway, glad I got those things right with my writing. Did I mention how much I love your comments? :D And I corrected those two mistakes, THANK YOU. Who'd have thought, I can make spelling mistakes too... (just kidding, it's just that I'm usually good at noticing other people's mistakes - apparently better than my own haha)
Also, you got my Dresden reference!!! I love you so much. *hugs tight*

I love Betta George, and I'm glad to see him again. And my God, the confrontation between Buffy and Spike is well worth waiting for! I wish they'd gotten a chance to say half of this to each other in canon.

I really agree. I think the way they basically glossed over not seeing each other for years in season 8 was painfully perfect for the characters at that point - especially considering what Buffy'd been doing right before they met - but this doesn't change the fact that I'd have loved for it to go a different way!
