Rave on!

I've been playing Mass Effect 2 for about a week now. First things first - it's great. The dialog, the action, the story. It's all excellent. It's well worth playing the first one, well, first. There are lots of cool little call backs to stuff you did in the first game. I've not hit a false note yet, and the tone is very much "Empire Strikes ( Read more... )

Man, Tonya Harding. I wonder whatever happened to her.

I'm glad you're enjoying it! Everyone that I know who's been playing it has been really impressed at how polished it is, and Emily's pointed out a few things in game that were pretty hilarious. (Hamlet? I hope that's not a spoiler.)

Have to agree with the article though. There was so, SO much stuff online about the game before release that I found out knowing pretty much everything about it, whether I wanted to or not. Oof.

I somehow managed to dodge most of the info on the Mass Effect - and I've been super vigilant about avoiding Bioshock as well. I really like the Escapist. Lots of good articles and pretty decent reviews.

There's a spoiler cinematic out for WoW now which involves the final thing after the Lich King encounter in the Frozen Halls. My husband has seen it, other people I raid Icecrown Citadel have seen it, and I don't want to see it until, you know, I actually DO THE ENCOUNTER.

I saw the cinematic for Wrathgate before the game came out, but I was in Beta at the time, as well as doing as much research about the game as I could for my Forsaken character's RP story. Do I regret it? Not really. But this cinematic is the last bit. The Big Bad. I would rather actually spotlight my own completion of the encounter by seeing the cinematic for the first time.

That sounds like it would be a pretty amazing cinematic. I agree that if you are going to get the chance to see it at the end of an encounter it would be kind of like a crowning achievement. A reward for your adventure!

Also! What does your Shepard look like? It seems like it's possible to make either really hot, or SUPER FRIGHTENING characters.

My Shepard is a nice looking blonde lady. She's a paragon, of course. I'm rarely if ever a mean character, when given the choice, in games. I just can't do it.

Are you playing? What does your Shepard look like?

I'm not playing it, but Emily sure is, and hers is a handsome black commander Shepard with a roman nose. She's going down the jerk path though, and intimidating and manipulating her way to a better tomorrow.
